Visit to Antique Rose Emporium

A friend and I visited the Independence ARE yesterday. Weather was perfect [other than no rain!] and it was gorgeous! I came home with 11 roses, an unusual pink Turks Cap, a Texas olive tree, Texas tea bushes [which I had been looking for] and some rocket snapdragons and coral and lavender phlox. The beds were immaculate and lots of things were blooming - potted roses all looked good and were blooming - they were putting up a huge new metal structure for climbing roses and had expanded more flower beds. We had a picnic under the shade trees - it was sublime!! Any of you that are close enough to go there - it would be a wonderful trip! It is about a 3 hour trip for me but I am ready to go back! I found several unusual plants that seem to have survived the drought [unfortunately they were out of them] but I made a note of them and plan to get them later. Those of you who are close, take a road trip and visit ARE - you will be delighted!
