I quit buying ANYTHING from Wayside after they sent me two heucheras that I were on backorder until fall and then they were no bigger than my thumb. Honestly. When I complained that they weren't even rooted, I was told they sent "dormant" plants. I told them that it was nonsense and heucheras should never be sent dormant. The last few orders I bought from Wayside were all garbage. It's too bad; they used to be a good place to get quality plants. Not anymore. Hope your twigs work out okay and grow. Make sure you keep your receipt and read how long they are warranted for. -terry

Those are pretty hot temps. It may be sun burn or lack of water. I know you say it gets hit with a sprinkler every night but how much water is it really getting? Put a water gauge in front of it and see. Is it in the ground or a pot? It may need some shade during the hottest part of the day. If it's in a pot move it to where it can get shade in the afternoon. If it's in the ground rig some type of shade for it during the afternoon. Even a lawn chair over it will help shade it. I would not fertilize it until it puts out new leaves. You have lots of green cane there so the rose should recover and leaf out again once you correct the problem.

Yep they're the best. Can be a little pricey shipping for those of us on the West Coast, but if it's a rose you can't find anywhere else, it's worth it. And the plants are pretty darn big for 1gallon size. They pack them so well, it's almost a nightmare to get them out, especially when you're so excited to see them!! LOL I have ordered from them for many yrs now. I am actually thinking about doing a second order. Lisa, you mentioned SONIA RYKIEL... I had her and she was in the batch of roses along the upper fence where it was too shady. I dug all the roses outta there after the septic re-do, because I have more room in full sun now. And SR was one of the roses that apparently died. Altho, last fall I found a tiny little own root rose sprouted up a few months after the dig-up, and it appears to have come from her spot. So I potted it up and am "impatiently" waiting to see if it ends up being her ... or not. Most of the roses in that particular area were own root, so there's a possibility. But it could be anything. I have to wait and see if it blooms this yr. Either way, tho, I'm seriously thinking about ordering her anyway, just because. And then of course, I have to order at least 4 roses total to make it worth it! LOL

I think mine was either best friends or rainbows End. The tag even said do not over fertilize it will get large. And it did . It was about 5 ft tall and just covered in beautiful orange and yellow blooms.
