To shovel-prune or not to shovel-prune-Sancy de Parabere

So, it is the stake stock time of the year in my garden. I've got a 2 yr old Sancy de Parabere. I started thinking that it was in the wrong spot (which it is), but then I realized that I don't really like it all that much.

BS prone and bare canes halfway up. Would require more treatment than currently receiving.

It is the only rose plant that the JBs eat the leaves on. All others are left alone.

I found the blooms flat and they didn't persist AT ALL.

Yet, I bought locally and paid for the privilege. I know it is young yet so I may give it through next spring to show me its stuff, but overall...meh.

Any opinions on this rose?
