My daughter gave me a large healthy Heritage in April, and it has been blooming all summer, rarely without buds prepping for another round. It has grown very lanky however, with long arching canes that have the blossoms almost on the ground, especially now. It actually resembles my gallica Allegra in that respect.

Is this a rose that needs a trellis or other support? Or should I prune it hard when it is done blooming, and plan to shape it more aggressively next spring?
