My perfect rose question
Comments (3)Daisy: Thank you. I have Francis and LOVE him, but he is a deep dark red for me! His fragrance is attar. Roseseek: Thank you. I had already checked HMF's photos of MB after reading Paul's post and they don't reveal the plum to me, but a variable lighter to very dark blue purple. Wow, Barden speculates that his mislabeled seedling is out of Midnight Blue! Maybe there's unmentioned fragrance in the final test garden. If there were also Barden's good form as well, then it may be a nearly perfect rose (for me). Of course, I'm not thinking about all the other survival in Florida skills it would need for me. It's awful when reality interrupts dreams, isn't it?...See MorePlum Perfect - A Good Rose?
Comments (12)I think 'Plum Perfect' is the prettiest purple of the purple roses I have. I ordered from Chamblees and got three in the pot and 2 'Lavender Veranda's in a pot and also 2 'Poseidon's in one pot. So I have more purple roses than I know what to do with as I also got 'Love Song' and 'Magenta'. Here are some pictures of Plum Perfect, I now have two this size as I gave one to a neighbor out of Chamblee's gallon. I have also put photos of Love Song and Lavender Veranda for comparison. It is hard to get the richness of Plum Perfect's real plum color. Plum Perfect: Lavender Veranda: Love Song: Another rose that has purple tones that is just gorgeous, blooms in flushes spread apart but last for a long time is 'Soeur Emmanuelle'. It is very upright like as a Hybrid Tea:...See MoreKordes Plum Perfect growth habit
Comments (56)@chris2486, I'm glad to see you on the forum still. Your PP has me drooling! That is probably the best whole-bush photo I've seen of it. Feel free to share *more* images of your plants! LOL. I've become a *huge* fan of the Kordes' roses, own-root, which you introduced over here, and Plum Perfect has shown incredible promise in my no-spray garden its first year. (DLEverette, in a few years, your Kordes roses might well look that nice. Imagine what Pink Rose's will probably look like this spring.) I do hope that Ball/Star follows through with the same sort of selection criteria. If Carmen Würth lives up to the claims of Kordes-rosen.de and is selected for introduction this fall, I'll be first in line!...See MoreDoes anyone have plum perfect and violets pride?
Comments (10)Get both if you have room. They are diff colors for sure. My PP bloomed much better but I've had it a little longer than VP. If I had to pick one I'd go with PP bc I don't have any other roses that color and they last forever on the bush and in a vase. Love love love it. I'm sure I will love VP (don't remember it having any pink in it but didn't bloom much) but this girl was blown away with PP. I've deleted so many of my pics but will see if I have any still. Go on now and order it. Go go go. NOW!!! NOW!!! NOW!!! Edit : Ok I think this is a pic of PP. It's hard for me to be confident of a pic from last year. Do you have Poseidon? I came across the bouquet of Poseidon looking for PP...See Morealameda/zone 8/East Texas
