Geo,. LOL this is a lot of questions/statements. Will try cover at least some. Own root vs grafted. In my opinion there is no such question. I grow and love both. If the rose is available own root, great. If it is only available grafted on multiflora- works for me too. No real preference here. Only gallicas I love to have grafted because this will help with suckering. If i had to choose Dr Huey graft vs own root, i will choose own root. If I have to choose own root vs multiflora- doesn't matter in my soil. My soil is different from Ann's and Pauls, I think. I have quite old multiflora grafted roses (more then 10 years) and they are fine, but it also can be that they are own root by now ( I plant with graft below soil level). I do cuttings, but my percent of success is kind of low :( I had good success with rooting gallicas. I do it in winter. Majority of my gallicas are grafted, so they don't produce suckers, if you want cuttings, I can send them to you, just send me e-mail with your address. Duc de Guiche - can send you cuttings Belle Isis - don't have it anymore, gave it to a friend. Belle Herminie (- can send cuttings Belle Sans Flatteri -lost my mature bush to some construction project. Growing an own root one from my old plant, but it is too young for cuttings Rene d'Anjou (moss)- can send you cuttings. RdA gets some BS. Most others are healthy until late August/Sept. They get some spots (not BS) late in the seasoon sometimes. I have Crimson Jewel or Crimson passion bush cherry, don't remember which one of these two. It is still very young, just planted, so I wouldn't expect fruits for couple years. I am patient:) This is a good year for figs, but my are small. My sister has tonns. Roseraie de L'Hay shouldn't turn brown, unless your spray it with something (fertilizer, etc). SSheila's Perfume spend 7 years in my garden. It was very BS prone, but perfume is really good. Oath...Perhaps Olga will commenton how hers is doing in your zone. I picked up The Bishop for her this spring, and she's trying it out. It gets virtually no sign of disease for me. Occasionally it does get the white stripe. It blooms very early..maybe one of the first roses to bloom for me (I don't have many of those early yellow roses yet)...and continues and continues and continues... Patricia, I thought Orpheline was some woman's name...who lived in Julliet...what do I know? hehehehe I'm not sure that my Ferdinand Lesseps is, in fact, actually FL. But, that's what it was sold to me as. I've moved it to a place I can supplement its water regularly in case it wants to rebloom. I wonder if I have the real The Bishop or something else?
