Delphs in the south

I absolutely LUV the tall regal look of the delphs I've come across in local garden centers but the plain ugly truth is...they just don't do well in our heat and humidity but for next year I have decided to try species,d.cardinalis,d.nudicaule,d.zalil and oh yeah..even though d.elatas(sp?)isn't suppose to do well here I just had to order seeds for "Kissed by Chocolate" because...well,I'm a chocolate fan.
Is there ANYONE close to my hot humid zone 8 that had at least minimal sucess with delphs?
