I am really not so sure that tea roses would perform well with no spraying... I am rather skeptic.

Nonetheless, first a cheat then real tea roses:

1-the cheat: try conrad ferdinand meyers: it is a hybrid between a tea and a rugosa. Looks much like a tea but much more resistant. It lives well without any spraying.It has an incredible scent. Silverly-pink. I paste you the link to the picture of my CFM.

Hi Gean, I'm thinking of my favorite teas and you already have most of them! Baronne Henriette de Snoy is one you must consider. Yes, its another pink tea but its a very elegant plant in the manner of Lady Hillingdon and Mrs Dudley Cross.

Allopapallo, I'm intrigued by your list: you have tea roses that are not available to us here. In the Southern US teas and chinas do quite well no spray, they're our finest landscape roses.

duchess, as you may know, I live in a BS infested area:), but I have several teas that are doing well and don't show as much bs as most of the roses in my yard (are you listening you Austins?).

but Monsieur Tiller did. Also still in a pot, so perhaps with maturity he would have better resistance.

Ones not on your list that I have had in the ground are Marie d'Orleans, Mlle Kruger and Rosette de Lizzy. They get some spotty leaves, but not nearly as bad as many other roses.

I do think it depends on the spot you plant them in (morning sun vs pm sun) and weather conditions so you'll have to wait and see.

I have many of the same teas you do. I do have Beaute Inconstante and like it - it's really putting on lots of growth right now. Another one I have that you don't is Mlle Franziska Kruger. Mine is still pretty small but I suspect that it's going to take off any moment. The flowers on it are to die for. I highly recommend it.

Gean-The two teas that are on my spring wish list are Clementina Carbonieri (couldn't believe how quickly it sold out this spring) and Souvenir de Pierre Notting. You already have CC. SdPN because of Father Jerome who has posted glowing reports and nice pictures and Jeri, who posted a heavenly pic of her unknown rose with the iron constitution which was tentatively id'ed as SdPN. Both in California, of course, so maybe someone in your region can chime in. The descriptions i remember go something like this:
In continous bloom, great form, healthy as all get out, people stop and stare, most commented on rose in my garden.
Sounds like the perfect rose for a front yard.

Gean -- Have you tried any of the Cochets?

With all awareness of the differences in climate, we find few roses out here that can match
'Niles Cochet' for volume and continuity of bloom, along with resistance to mildew and rust.
'Maman Cochet' comes in a close second.

Also check 'Le Pactole' and "Arcadia Louisiana Tea."

And -- a little out of the Tea group, but a real stalwart here is 'Gloire des Rosomanes'
("Ragged Robin") who blooms his heart out.

A warning about Mlle. Kruger, she can be ugly in the spring with her balled blooms, then there are the occasional vegetative centers....now, once the heat sets in she usually straightens up and has lovely blooms but her misbehaviour in the spring has caused me to have a love/hate relationship with her. Rosette de Lizzy, is the opposite, pretty colors in the spring and fall but the summer colors are not attractive at all, at least not here in the blazing heat.

Souv. de Pierre Notting is pretty wonderful most of the time. He does lose some leaves but doesn't defoliate. The thrips love him in the spring. One of my favorite roses.

Marie d'Orleans gets some blackspot and loses leaves but will normally grow them back and she is a dependable bloomer and a bright spot in the garden. I love this low maintenance lady.

Devoniensis is a beautiful and smaller white Tea. Slow to establish but mine is about 3 feet now and blooms alot. I can actually detect a strong fragrance on this Tea and normally I don't "get" the Tea fragrance.

I have Arcadia Louisiana Tea and Sunset in the apricot/yellow color range and like them but they are still too new in my garden to judge. New whites that are impressing me are Mrs. Foley Hobbs and Victor Velidan. Again, too new to give an honest assessment of but so far I think these will be favorites.

You have my other favorites and I see that you already have Maman Cochet so you are familiar with the growth habit of the Cochet's :-). Niles was over 12 feet tall here and still growing, if you have the room, a gorgeous rose, but he is a land grabber.

Gean, have you considered Georgetown Tea? I don't spray very much and it's a favorite of mine.
This year Baronne Henriette de Snoy balled and never opened.

Angels Camp Tea from Vintage is a wonderful rose in every way. I highly recommend it. Another good one is Blumenschmidt. Climbing Lady Hillingdon is much superior to the bush form and I highly recommend it. Souvenir d'un Ami and General Tartas are also lovely.

Thank you all. I think I will order a number of them and see which ones I like the best to put into that bed out front.

It's too hard to decide without seeing them myself. This is how pot ghettos are created, I guess.
