Hmmm, I didn't realize it was only happening here on Gweb, because I don't click the back button that much unless I'm here. This has been really bugging me! My Firefox automatically updated itself a couple of days ago, and I thought that's why it was happening. But since it's only on GW, I can't blame it on that.

I'm going to try it on a small scale again this year too. The first year (2 years ago) it bloomed well, but I do found the open flower tended to flop a bit. I found if you cut it early (i.e. before it was fully open) and kept the side stems, they did ok, just ok. I liked the look of the pictures in both catalogs and thought I'd give them one more try! I love the sensation pink and white series, the pyscho white and the Versaille Tetra Red too. The Picotee and Seashells are good, but tend to bloom a lot later for me. For cutting, the do better pinched at about a foot, but sometimes I never make it and just cut hard for the first cut...then they keep on growing! Keep us posted on your successes too. Wendy

EVERYONE should grow Cosmos! They are the flower of LOVE. I will have to try some of these Rose Bonbon Cosmos though. They remind me of Pincushions! Pretty! Kris, I had good luck with the shorter Cosmos called "Picotte". Mine had white or soft pink flowers with deep pink to magenta petal tips. They were about 3-4 feet tall and when planted amongst other flowers stood up to our fierce Okie winds pretty good. They bloom very early and last through the summer. Very pretty. I planted them and White Cosmos in with big Gloriosa Daisies, blue salvias and Magenta Bee Balm (Monarda). I adore the white ones. I tried some new varieties in late summer (...well, new to me anyway). Will grow those colors again this spring. One was a Chocolate color and another had tawny honey colored flowers. Another one is called "Day Dreams" that was just gorgeous. Both were under 3 feet tall. Some stood tall and some fell over. So I will plant them thickly like they grow in the wild. Going to plant Cosmos up in the meadow this year too. They can take the harsh Oklahoma summer heat, the winds and dry spells and they can reseed and spread about all they want up there in great abandon. :) Annie ~ a Flower Child of the 60s who still loves cosmos and daisies
