Maackia amurensis

This one along with Heptacodium (Seven-sons Flower) is the latest flowering tree I've got. The flowers aren't anything to get too excited about, but at this time of year they're very welcome. Foliage stays perfect all year and overall just a nice tree to have around. If it had any fall color to speak of, it would be just about the perfect medium-sized tree. I'm a bit surprised it hasn't been used more as a street tree. Much tougher and drought tolerant than Syringa reticulata, which has been the small/medium street tree of choice around here over the past few years.
Has anyone tried Maackia chinensis? Supposedly not has hardy as M. amurensis, and I've never seen it offered retail.
