It's hay bale time!

Thought I'd repeat an idea I haven't seen here for a while:

Now's the time to look for hay bales that folks have used for seasonal decorations and are ready to get rid of. Taking the lead from a previous poster, I print notes offering to pick up bales of hay or straw, along with pumpkins, when the owners are tired of them. I include my phone number. I leave these notes tucked under door mats (not in the letter slot). Spoiled hay is good for many things, but I use most of mine this way: I cut them open, break them onto "books" of 4-6", and lay them out on a lasagna bed. It helps to shovel some soil or coffee grounds on top to them to draw the microherd. Happy hunting! Robert
