Question about Yvonne's Salvia

alley

I've seen and read a few posts about Yvonne's salvia and wanted some (although I didn't do much about getting some). So, when I got some in a round robin exchange, I was beyond excited. Then I started doing some more research and am learning that it may be too hot here (I have never put salvia and too hot in the same sentance before). I'm in north texas, just west of Fort worth. I'm in zone 7b (or 8a, depending on what map you're looking at). I've winter sown the seeds and they are just begining to sprout. Is it too hot for them here? Should I put them in the shade? Will they need some extra water to compensate for the heat? I really don't want to lose these. How do I take care of them?
