10 more, total 180. they're coming in drips and drabs now, I had so much tome to collect jugs before I started now I'm just sowing as I find em. Only annuals from now on.

If I sowed containers in my dreams can I count those toward the count?? LOL

I actually prepped several containers yesterday, but I was so tired that I did not sow one seed. Well I went to sleep last night and of course I am waking up all night trying to sow my containers. Dreaming of what all I need to do. So in reality I did not sow one container, but if we could count our dreams toward our container count I would have at least a good 10 to 15 more, LOL.

Add 26 for me making total of 230 for Zone 6.

Please add 21 for me, total of 25 for Zone 5.

What it took for me was the threat of company coming for a dinner party. Since November I've been collecting our empty milk jugs in the dining room. I had a deal with my boyfriend that we'd save our empties, he would put up with heaps of milk jugs and I wouldn't raid the neighbors' recycling bins like I did last year. I didn't know where to stash them in our apartment, besides stuffing them into our one closet and hoping no one looked in there. My dear sweet boyfriend saw me scrambling around trying to organize and clean everything and said, "Why don't you take tomorrow and plant some of those? You'll feel better." He was right, and most of my jug collection is now neatly labeled and lined up outside. He was surprised with how fast I went through them. Looks like I will still need to scrounge. :-)

Hey, Happy First Day of Spring, Everyone!! It is very sunny and VERY cold here in SE Michigan today! Please add 9 more containers to Zone 5, for a total of 116! Just had to sow some on the first day of spring!
AND, are you ready for this, I am so excited, can't believe this, when I checked for sprouts today, found the Prairie Smoke had sprouted! Of all the seeds I WSed, these were the ones I prayed over the most! Now I'm praying they will survive whatever is left of winter, and then I'll be praying to find a place to put them!!

Another 53 for a total of 287! And, I'm so done. Done, done, done. I did all anuals and veggies. Maybe is too early for zinnias, cosmos, marigolds and MGs, but, this is it. No more jags, soil, bottles, seeds, labels, etc, etc on my poarch. Hope, there will be an early spring. I'm soooooo tired. Yesterday, I've cleaned all front yard. I'm so glad, weekend is almost over, I can go to work and rest.... But, it was fun, except, I can not even move, all my muscle are sore.

Please add 16 more for me (for a total of 18).

I've gotten a very late start this year but I finished up 96 jugs this weekend. I'm nowhere near done yet. More to come! :))

edie, nice to have the suggestion from your boyfriend. Amazing what we get done when company is coming...that's an incentive for me to clean house. We joke that we should have company more often.

Add 10 more for KimKa (zone 6) bringing my total to 158. Almost done now.

Add 8 more for me, zone 5, making my total 61. :o) Though, they were sown today... Does that make it spring sowing? ;o)

My new count is 583. I'm kinda at a stand still as Old Man Winter won't go away from NE Ohio! Snow & 20's in the forecast for the next WEEK!!! UGH!! I only have a few more reseeding annuals I can sow until I can start my annuals in April. Probably can start more than I realize but not sure what all "reseeds" in my zone so I'm stuck! LOL I'll just be patient & wait til April! :P

Please add 35 for zone 7 - I started my peppers today, I know it's late, but better late than never! And earlier than last year, didn't even get started last year!! lol :)

I've decided I'm DONE! :-) I'm tired and will be busy enough with the 320 containers that I've already done. Plus I have bulbs to plant and I've been ordering plants like crazy. I'm out of control.......... lol

Very interesting - the spreadsheet is a googledoc stored on the google server so when the spreadsheet gets updated, the old link brings up the new spreadsheet.

Try clicking on the link that I posted on Tues, March 22, for the Zone Wars spreadsheet & you'll get the new spreadsheet that I posted the link to on Friday, March 25.

I am glad that we are posting the zone totals in the thread - we can look back & see the increase. Otherwise only current figures are available on the linked spreadsheet. Thanks, everyone!

I almost forgot to post !! I have a total of 20 milk jugs planted.(10 days ago already) I was afraid the weather here was going to stay warmer but it's colder again so no chance of early sprouting.
