Moving a well established rose bush

Hello

I have been blessed with some well established rose bushes in a house we just bought. Well I am doing some landscaping and 2 of them are in the way of a path being built. The place the roses are planted consist of a bed that is about 7 ft long and 3 ft wide. There are all together 5 rose bushes in this area. I really hate to throw away these beautiful bushes and would like to replant them in the gaps between the other bushes, forming almost like a rose wall. but I am unsure of how much space needs to be between the roses for them to survive the move. Also there is no doubt in my mind that these roses are well over 20 years old. SO I know the root is massive. Another question is how much of the root do I have to get to ensure the roses live after the move. And how deep do I make the new hole.

Any advice greatly appreciated.
