What have you tried? The quietest filter for that size tank is going to be one of the in tank power filters like a fluval 1 or a duetto shark. These filters are ok, not great, but ok. Just be careful not to change the foam in them. Clean them during a water change by rinsing and squeezing them in the used tank water (NOT fresh tap water, the chlorine will kill the biological filter). The one drawback of these is the filter material is pretty small and in one piece, so if you actually change it with something new you've removed your biological filter. Better to just clean out the sponge. If you went with one of these I'd also stuff as many plants in there as possible *if* you have the light for them. Good low light choices are anubias, java moss, and java fern. These are all pretty common and can survive in lower light levels (although more light would help a lot). It is very feasible to have a tank this size where plants are the only filter, but if you haven't done this before it will be a new challenge for you. If you wanted to go this route do a web search for "Diana Walstead". She wrote a great book called Ecology of the Planted Aquarium. Its very technical, but the practical side of it is reasonably easy and you should be able to get a lot of info on the web.

Ria Raj: The fan curves by duct length can be converted, but either way don't tell the critical part of the story -- what is the pressure loss vs. flow rate of the hood with baffles in place? This pressure loss may be expected to dominate duct loss when using 10-inch ducts at the 1400 CFM blower's full power, even a 100-feet's worth. And that assumes no MUA pressure loss, which will certainly exist, even with a sophisticated active MUA blower system. I still recommend assuming a 2/3 of rated actual flow rate when all of the variables are not known, and using that value divided by the hood entry aperture area to achieve roughly 90 CFM/sq. ft. My asserted hood rule is: Overlap the cooking plumes to achieve good capture, get the velocity in the baffle gaps up to roughly the highest plume velocity, ca. 180 ft/min. (With induction one might squeak by with a bit less due to lack of a gas flame aiding the upward velocity of the plume.)

Installed properly, a properly functioning HP will not experience this condition of being buried, except perhaps in blizzard like conditions that might only happen about once in 20-years. Usually high snowfalls are accompanied by windy conditions that spread snow around. When HP’s are rack mounted above snow lines, have a fan hood and are function properly, this is not usually an issue. Conversely, with geothermal, the undisturbed earth temperature above the 30-foot depth lags behind seasonal air temperature changes by at about 1 season. So that when we start heating, the earth still has most of its stored heat from summer. The same is true for air-conditioning in summer, that the first 30-feet of earth is still cooler from winter, as it has not yet stored all the heat of the summer sun, therefore making geothermal even more efficient due to ground conditions.
