Can I plant a male and female kiwi tree 'together'?
Comments (5)Ken, based on my experience it doesn't really matter if they touch, the trunks will eventually grow into each other. The one thing you do want to do is to make sure to allocate leaf space exclusively for the male and the female respectively, otherwise pruning becomes a mess. You will need a total area of at least 3'x8' for the bushy "head" of the two vines at the minimum. In this small of a space you will need to be pruning several times in the first half of the summer to remove all the long shoots coming way out. If you have more space than 3'x8' that would make it easier. Scott...See MoreReplaced male Betta for Angel fish
Comments (2)Thank you Dasheen, I have a new (2 weeks old) 12 gallon Nano glass Cube heated Aquarium with bio 3 stage filter system. The tank is still settling. I test and treat the water Ph daily and adjust accordingly along with adding cycle treaatment and weekly water changes with Stresscoat. Right now I have 3 Cories, 2 red Tetras, 2 female Bettas and 1 Angel. I truly love the appearance of this Angel fish. The photo does not do this fish justice. It sparkles silver on the sides and the yellow gold on top of the fish. Also the Angel seems very contented in his environment. I am slowly replacing the fake plants with real plants since this aquarium came with a really good light for plant growth. So far, I am really enjoying my Angel and Cories the most, for beauty and personality. I have been trying to bring the PH down daily because my water test to be very hard. The other readings state safe or fair. I know this is a new tank so I imagine it will take some time for it to be consistant and also it is a small tank so it will never be like a large tank. Comments (3)If you plan on breeding, please learn all about it and get a home made baby brine shrimp hatchery going beforehand. Bettas are not easy fish to mate, and the young are pretty hard to care for too. Don't breed if they are veiltails or are not of exceptional quality. Remember you need to find good homes for all of those babies, and giving them to petstores is not an answer. You need a large grow out tank, and then lots and lots of containers when they become aggressive. You will need to do waterchanges on all those containers frequently too....See MoreSick female betta?
Comments (4)Did you acclimate him before placing him into the new bowl/water. You need to float the container in bowl to get water temp the same. Also the water ph and misc. may have shocked her. You need to gradually add new water to the water she was in. When doing a water change I use filtered (have one of those water picture that filter water) water let it sit for about 3-4 hours (or even a day) then add water conditioner. Scoop some of old water out, transfer fish to that and add some new water to dish fish is in. You should never do complete water change, reserve about 1/3 of old water to put in cleaned bowl. Is that real coral that in bowl, maybe getting too much disolved calcium from it? Also, never have water all the way up to top of bowl, they are known to jump out. Also to get enough disolved oxygen in bowl the depth of water should be close in ratio the surface water/exposed to air. In other words if water is 8" deep the surface should be approx 8" across. Hope this helps...I have noticed females are not as lively as males....See Morephyllispm
