The Husband Guy says that it sounds like too much fertilizer. however, he also said that 3-4 hours of sun is not enough. If it got very hot where you are, a container pot could dry out very quickly. At any rate, I suspect that transplanting it did more harm than good. Sorry, but I think you need to forget this one and start over. He says that where you are, in South Florida, you would not have to worry about the last freeze date and could plant much earlier than March.

Wrong time of year to attempt to move a rose.....or pretty much any other well-established plant. This should be done when the plant is dormant, in late winter. And even more particularly distressing if the rootball is greatly disturbed (like in bare rooting). It just puts a severe strain on the plant known as transplant shock. Sometimes the plant will recover but depending on conditions, maybe not. At this point all you can do is water and hope for the best. Am I missing something about the rose?? 'Iceberg', as you might imagine, has pure white flowers :-)

Not much you can do about Japanese Beetles. They are a plague in many rose gardens across the country. If you want to be overwhelmed with laments and advice about Japanese Beetles, just type Japanese Beetles into the search box at the top of the page. You'll get more threads on the topic than you will ever want to read--but helpful suggestions also. Basically, one either endures and waits til they go away (2 months later) or one goes utterly manic and conducts daily Japanese Beetle killing runs through he gardens (drowning them in a bucket of soapy water--New Dawn soap) every morning. Or you could move to a state like Kansas which is not overly troubled by them. Kate

IT looks okay. Do not over fertilize, you will "kill it with kindness". Read and follow all package directions on fertilizer--they have directions for a reason. In looking at your photos, it appears one thing your rose has to deal with is reflected heat from the stucco walls close to the plant. Go out when the sun has been shining on the walls for a while and stand next to them--you will feel reflected heat. It is not comfortable for you, and it isn't comfortable for the plant, either. Roses can handle some reflected heat once they have established themselves in the ground. The plant's performance in that spot will improve once it has a chance to grow some roots, but that does not happen instantly, it may take two or three years depending on the cultivar and the climate conditions.
