This bed gets full sun AND full shade

I have a small little bed against our house that is covered by an awning (inherited with the house). It is only about 1 foot wide by 5 feet long.

The funny thing about the bed is that because it is covered by an awning, it gets full sun early and late in the season, when the sun is lower. During June and July, when the sun is really high, the bed is full shade. This makes it tough to choose plants that can take full sun and full shade.

I have 2 daylilies on each end of the bed, I figured they would get enough sun early in the season to bloom. What would you suggest putting in the middle of the daylilies?
