I'm asking this question on behalf of a neighbor who plans to use a heavy layer of hot manure in parts of her back yard to control oxalis & other weeds.

Can anyone tell me - how thick a layer of manure does she need to use? I know people often put down paper or cardboard under mulches - is this advisable with manure? Is hot manure enough to kill oxalis?

Not sure if this is a factor, but...our rainy season is a month or more away, and we may have less frost than usual, due to El Nino conditions. This is primo oxalis weather!
