Anyone ever try this??

I have a Scotts John Deere 2046 with a 3 blade 42" deck and a (belt) powered vac system to the bags on back. A few time a year I really wish that I could get more capacity in the bags. Usually fall when there are lots of leaves to pick up, and also when I cut the grass way down for the winter.

I was thinking of building something like this

..out of my utility trailer, but not with a separate blower engine since I have a powered vac system. I would remove the bag frame, vocer and bags, make a steel brace tha twould go into the bag holder bracket down by the the hitch point, and that would hold up the upper end of the chute. Then I'd use 8" flax hose to my trailer.

On the trailer I'd just build a big plywood box, with a 1/4" chicken wire vent somewhere, and duct the flex hose into it.

Seems like it could work, the air flow out of the grass chut e is VERY high, I don't think it would have any trouble pushing crass and leaves another 24" or so into the box.

Ideas??
