John Deere 425 - runs for 10 seconds and shuts off
I have a 1993 John Deere 425 with 575 hours on it. It has been running fine this summer, but yesterday I got back on it and it would only run for 10 seconds and then would shut off. I tried to restart it many times immedietly after and it wouldn't start.
I let it sit for the evening and tried to restart it today. It started up again but only lasted about 5-10 seconds again. It wouldn't start up anymore. I then hooked up my aircompressor and blew compressed air into the fuel tank to try to force the gas through the lines.
I turned the key and it started and ran for about 15 seconds, then turned off. Each time I blew air in the tank it would start for 15-20 seconds.
I've never worked on the JD 425 before, but I'm pretty handy and can fix most things. Can someone please point me in the right direction? Does this have a fuel pump that isn't working???
I appreciate all help and advice!
