Need soil recipe for California clay, please. Jeri? Cass?

Because my favorite rose soil is from a nursery that is going out of business, I need a soil recipe for rosebushes.
Our native soil , c. 7 miles east of San Francisco, Ca is heavy clay.
Most of my roses that I planted with that superior "rose soil" are thriving, a Monsiuer Tillier that is only 18 months old is 4+ feet tall and as wide. I planted it with a large amount of Orchard supply "rose soil" although they list ingredients they do not list proportions.
I have two problems presently:
My 'Souvenir de Claudious DeNoyal" has yellow foliage.
My Marachal Niel' has never taken off, I bought it as a puny 4 inch tall bandling and it is still only about 3' tall after 3 years in my garden. I just read another posting that a california gardener had a 9' tall plant of Marachal Niel" that had such a small root system it could not support the vigor of the canopy. Would bone meal help?

I'd greatly appreciate any help you could offer me in the way of a recipe.

Thanks,
Luxrosa
P.S. I have a big heap of well rotted grass clippings on a compost heap, and a few bags of organic chicken manure
My neighbor used bone meal, blood meal and alfalfa but she moved and I have no idea what else she added to her rose soil.
