I check once a day and know it's been too cold for anything happening except those poppies germinated last week and I did the happy dance. I'm just hoping the other 75 containers do the same.

I usually check every 3 or 4 days or so. If we have unusually warm weather like we are expected to the next few days, I will be outside more often, so I might look in to see whats going on. I mostly check to see if they have enough water. It hasn't rained much here lately and I have a tendency to think they will be ok,with or without water. Guess I'm hoping the overnight freezing temps will take care of the moisture for me. We shall see.

I look if I am outside. It's just wishful thinking at this point.

I check daily, usually in the afternoon when I get home from work and go outside with the dogs. But on nice weekends when I am outside more throughout the day, I check multiple times. Just can't help myself;)

I have moved my WS container area this year from the deck out side the back door to a more "remote" location in the yard. When they were on the deck I checked many times a day. Now that they are around the bend and out of sight somewhat, I check about every other day. Nothing yet. I think that once I get seedlings I will be visiting those babies often!

Well, none at the moment, but once the sprouting really starts (early April), about 1-2x per day.

I know they are frozen solid, but I just can't help to peek inside the jugs every time I walk by them. So I check at least once a day.

I went out and looked a couple weeks ago.

Have not peeked yet still icy. When it warms up I check every morning w/ my first cup of coffee. Love that time of day.Then again in afternoon before going to work.It is thrilling when germ. starts.

In my first couple of years I checked constantly. Now I'm pretty sure I won't see anything until March. When we get warm days in March, I'll start looking.

I'm re-excited! I went out today to sort the ones that can be planted now from those other ones...I found lavender sprouts. I have tried for years to grow lavender from seed. One jug has three sprouts, the other has 5. I can't wait to check on them next week to see how big they've gotten with the warmer weather coming.

I must check at least five times a day. Every time I go by, I look at each one. I am always excited each time I see any new growth - the excitement never goes away - even after five years!

I won't even be checking til mid to late March. The first few years I was involved with WS I was looking all the time, but now I've learned just about when I should be looking and thats typed above, :)

Zero - not for several weeks. Way too early here.

About once a day. In the early a.m. when roaming around w/coffee in hand and the day gets busy.
How ever... I have several that have come up. But the ones I check the most are the Lavender and Poppies. I have tried to grow these both before and have never gotten them to come up from seed. So needless to say I'm so excited.
It has been quite dry and warm here so checking for water also.

So I think there are (at least) 2 types:
Those like me (see I had to make sure I wasn't the only one!)- I keep checking even tho I know nothing will be emerging yet.
And those rational people who know when something will be coming up. (smile)

At least twice a day - morning and evening. I know when to expect seedlings by now, but I still check - hey, a lotta stuff can happen in a few hours!

I talk to them (or rather, myself) too - "Is that a teeny radicle I see?" or "Boy, these are getting nice and FAT!". My new(ish) neighbor must believe I'm nuts, especially since whenever I see her face-to-face, I flash her this BIG toothy smile! She seems kind of skittish! hehehe ....

I just bought some new bulbs for my mini maglite so I can better see my containers at the night-check.

Only about once a week right now- when I put more jugs out on the weekends. I expect to see nothing, but peek anyway "just in case."
