Better to cut old blooms of Persicaria Polymorpha?

I have a big Persicaria Polymorpha that forms a kind of backdrop to my main garden, which is an island bed. The big puffy white blooms are great in May and June but by now are kind of brownish. But at a distance they still look nice. I don't know if P. Polymorpha reblooms if cut back.

I have always just left them but IÂm wondering if I should cut them off. I have great numbers of Japanese Beetles this year: the Persicaria flowers are full of them. If I cut them off, will that make them 1) go away, or 2) start eating flowers I value more? (At least those beetles.) They eat the leaves too but there are more bugs in the flowers.

If I cut them off the beetles in general will have less to eat, but I doubt if that would have any population impact. Very few people around here have gardens, they might not go far away but just move to a different plant. My cactus dahlias are starting and I know JB love those. Thanks!
