tenants cut down our halesia carolina

Don't know if anyone remembers my post about moving a Carolina Silverbell. Well, we didn't do the tree (or ourselves) any favors by not moving it. Despite an explicit statement in their contract that they were not to cut trees or move shrubs without contacting us, they just plan cut down the tree.

I AM FURIOUS! But there's nothing I can do now. The tree is down and that is that.

Not a case of thoughtless ignorant people here. They are successful professionals with lots of money, graduate degrees, and a very strong sense of entitlement.

I came here to vent a little and say how angry and sad I am. The tree was a wedding present. It was weirdly overgrown, and we didn't know what to do with it when we moved. But it didn't deserve such an ignominious end.

The trunk and branches were very pretty--smooth textured with attractive striation and an unusual grey color. Does anyone have ideas about what we might do with the wood now that the tree has been cut down?

Here is a link that might be useful: previous post about this tree
