Do Kent groundcover roses require deadheading?

We have 8 shrub roses of the variety Kent (it said poulcov on the tag). They are actually called groundcover roses, but the bushes are almost 3 feet tall.

They have thousands of blooms which are just now dying off (the first round of vlooms).

Should I deadhead them? It just takes forever to do. I remember reading something that said they were self-cleaning, but I'm not sure if deadheading them will cause them to bloom more profusely the second time. They normally rebloom until the first frost.

Should I cut those thousands of blooms off or let them set hips?

Thanks.

Dave
