Growing Primulas

norabelle

Hi there,

I ordered three primulas from T&M--Japonica miller's crimson, drumstick mixed primula denticulata, and primula capitata noverna deep blue.

From a thread started by 1morehosta last spring, I read that primulas can be slow to germinate for some and certain T&M seeds seem to be finicky.

How did primulas winter sown last year perform or survive?

From what I have read, primulas are hardy perennials, so they would seem good candidates for winter sowing in zone 5.

What are your tips for successfully germinating primulas?

Thanks!

Norabelle
