An easy way to prepare your potting mix

An idea that might help other winter sowers. I pour about 6" of potting mix in a 5 gallon bucket or dishpan where I have already put in an inch of water. With my trowel I mix it thoroughly. Then I pour in about another 6" of potting mix and add about a quart of water, mix thoroughly and repeat until I have enough very damp mix for my containers. Then I put the mix in my containers and winter sow. This methods makes it so easy because you don't pour on water and possibly dislodge seeds. Also, you are sure your soil is damp all the way through. Most potting mixes are very hard to wet top to bottom. Sorry if this tip/idea has already been posted. Just thought it might help the new winter sowers.
