I think the zoo has lawns... ;-)

Our zoo has a little tractor (made to look like a train) that will pull you around the zoo. You could check it out to see if it is using dino or synthetic oil and if the transmission is weak, that would tie the story into the forum. Also there is a monkey there and I have seen a picture of one driving a mower here as well.

The subject may be a bit off-topic but I find it more interesting than another "I have a $1,500 budget, which tractor should I buy" thread.

Must have stopped raining. I was a chaperone on a trip to the zoo once (with schools kids in the 2nd or 3rd grade)and two lamas started to mate right in front of us. The kids were fasicnated that one lama had climbed up on the back of another. Of course we moved on pretty quickly but it's all they talked about and questioned me endlessly on why one lama climbed on the back of the other. Made for an interesting day and bus ride home.

lkbum, there is an old joke that begins like that. The chaperon tells the kid, "that's because the llama in back hurt his foot, the llama in front is trying to help him out". The kids responds, "wouldn't you know it, when you try to help a guy out you get f***ed every time!".

Jenn and I just arrived at our lakehouse. It's been 6 weeks since we have visited and while I wasn't thrilled to drive tonight I'm sure happy we're here! The ride accross the lake was amazing with the moonlight reflecting off the water, the stars bright and wisps of fog curling around the running lights as we skimmed over the water. Tomorrow we'll wake up and have coffee, blueberry pancakes, bacon, juice and some fresh garden tomatoe slices while sitting out on our deck in what should be a sunny morning. Want to come over for breakfast? :^)

Now today I have a couple of newly installed beds to check on and tidey them up for winter. I could have done them yesterday, but the zoo time (not a Sat crowd) was worth many times a Sat. The exitement in grandson's eyes and actions (going on 2 yrs) was priceless and that moment in time cannot be caught up.

I still remember the times I spent with my grandfather. He let me "steer" his big red tractor (was on a farm) and for a really special treat we would get in a little red sports car and cruise down the back roads of New Jersey. The sports car wasn't his. A college student he knew had taken a couple years to go study in Europe and she stored her car in his barn. He had the blessing to use it but as far as I remember we only took it out on those rides. I still remember being fascinated by undoing the tonneau cover! I can't even remember what kind it was now, if I ever knew. It was small and red and with my grandad a ton of fun! He had this beekeeper friend and we would drive there for fresh honeycomb.
