If you are using it for plowing, as opposed to furrowing already loose soil, you will need some spare carriage bolts. Other than the carriage bolts mine has held up well. It peals back a nice strip of sod if you need to put some open up a path for water drainage across the lawn. You can take the sod strips and put them elsewhere. It is is also a REALLY good way to find shallow wires (like Invisible Fence wires). I still need to rebury the wires I pulled up last year. I will take the furrower off and try the ripper option for that.

Justalurker, I'm aware of the $550 hitch from Direct Mower, but that is a bit pricy for a riding mower. I've had my LT for several years. I have a separated two acre pasture of the ten acres I have, which 3 are in grass and the rest in woods. The two acres are for my donkeys. I have towed trees with this mower, have turned it over, even a car hit it slightly once, but it cranked right up the first time every time. The area I am trying to do is the pasture. I have the new Brinly-Hardy 38" scraper and box built for riding lawn mowers. My oil is a combination of dirt and sand, and is level. I have on many occasions rented a small box and have done my pasture. I just got tired of renting and bought this new gadget. The only problem I have had with my LT is a warn belt which is normal wear and tear. I use my LT to collect leaves and grass cuttings towing behind me a huge Craftsman lawn vac. I do have some slight inclines in the grassy area, but it pulls the vac right along. One must also consider these vacs hold 35 to 40 bushels of material. I am also aware that I am not going to use this LT on number 6 do do anything but ride the road in front of my house. For busting a few inches of dirt, I use 1 or 2. Same with the leaf vac, I am just curious about a sleeve hitch or how to make one. Brinly-Hardy used to make them for riding mowers, however, because of the various modifications on mowers they just stopped making sleeve hitches and now refer you to the manufacturer. I did find an MDT dealer who has them for LTs, but he is 80 miles one way from where I live. MDT makes all Craftsman mowers now.

Your test indicates that this is the 10 amp regulated charging system. ***25.8 VAC*** From the Briggs manual: "With engine running at 3,600 RPM (stator) output should be NO LESS than 20 volts for 10 Amp system". There should NOT be any reading when going from either stator output wire to ground when checking this "2 wire output" stator. The Red lead on the regulator is the regulator OUTPUT lead. It delivers any charging output to the battery positive circuit. If you can read BATTERY VOLTAGE by checking the chassis side of that red wire circuit (disconnected from regulator wire) going from red wire to ground, that circuit is good (meaning that it is in fact connected to the battery). If you cannot read battery voltage at the red wire on chassis side as I described above, there will be no charging current delivered to the battery. So, if you cannot read battery voltage on chassis side of the red wire, you need to trace the red wire out and see why it is not connected to the battery positive circuit. If the red wire shows battery voltage in the above test, and your reading never climbs higher than12.8 volts across the battery at high RPM...........even after running for as long as 30 minutes............ the regulator is defective. And it can take a few minutes for the voltage of the battery to climb out to a maximum point as the battery slowly absorbs the charge. It WILL NOT instantaneously jump up to 13.6 (or higher) when the engine is revved unless the battery is already in a full state of charge. Or you can visualize it like this: If you are filling a glass with water and all you have is a small trickle to fill it, the glass will take a while to fill to the point of overflowing (full glass = full battery charge). But, if the glass is already filled to the top, it will overflow as soon as you add more water. The battery charging process works in similar fashion. We have a drawer we call the owners manual drawer---All in one place--so encase of fire we can grab the drawer on the way out---sometime down the road want to put all--info on disks to be stored away from home (ie sisters house)-- I work retail and I reccommend to all the folks who come in not knowing what brand say of weedeater they have to look in their owners manual drawer for the information they need---I always get that blank eyed look like what am I talking about--- Reccommend that all receipts be scanned and printed and stapled to front of owners manual (because the thermal imaging fades quickly)
