woo-hoo got my seeds

from Value seeds, Spring is only a whistle away even if it is 10 degrees outside.

(we seem to have lost 2 degrees since the last time I looked.)

got Ca poppy, morning glory, more CA poppy, poppy dwarf allegro

[gee did I order that? What the heck is poppy dwarf allegro- haha I musta liked the picture.

And I just found some seeds to attract bees and butterflies that someone was sending out for free last year.

Gosh I better get busy - got a lot of sowing to do.

Ellen, what date did you order them on? I ordered mine from them on the 8th of January. No sign of them yet. :(

I ordered mine on December 24th and still don't have them. I think if they don't come today, I'll send an e-mail to try to find out what happened. Antsy? Definitely!

We lost our Big Lots last year.i sure hated it too as I found all kinds of goodies in that store.I bought a BIG pot today too.Its 24 inch pot at Freds on sale,was 7.99.so not too bad for a BIG pot.I use all sorts of things for pots,like a couple years ago I bought some big plastic tubs with rope handles on them and drilled a bunch of holes in the bottom and used them for pots.I have 3 I been using for the last 5 yrs to grow a tomatoe plant in.Have used the half gal ice cream containers to plant seeds in,just drill holes in the bottom. I first met Kathy for a plant swap in November 2006, at a gas station on 281. This is the copy of the original post. What great memories. It was there that we discussed having a plant swap in San Antonio. She did all the organizing, posting, and got the rules from I think the Ft worth Swappers. Without her it would have never happened. I mailed TxKitty $20 so she could purchase the permit, using her employee discount, Kathy even went to her work to pick up the permit. I only had to do one thing, and that was make the signs, so everyone would know which pavillion. It was a great swap, it was the first time everyone met. Thanks Kathy.

My January 6th order came in yesterday so I'm sure yours are on the way, Barb.

I'm still waiting on my Parsnip seeds so I can Winter sow those. I'm doing Agastache again this year too. :)

just copied this and pasted here as I somehow got it in the wrong post!!

I got some of the poppy allegro in a seed swap and looked it up....a bit hard to find at first but finally found it and it looks just like my red orientals except it is supposed to only grow about 15". I love poppies so planted (WS) them already.

Still waiting on mine from Value Seed. However, I did get my seeds from Baker Creek Heirloom Seed. As always, a very good amount of seed and quick shipping, all for reasonable prices!

Another nice thing is, I got a free pack of carrot seeds, which I forgot to order (ironically)! The label states that the minimum amount of seed in that packet is 800 seeds!!!!!!!! Can you say: "MMYeah, What's Up Doc?"

I love Baker Creek Heirloom Seed! I will definitely order from them for a very long time.

I ordered Jan 7, so yours should be on the way. Of course on Jan 10 I was asking, "Where are they?"!
I would e-mail them if you have a concern. As I said on another post, they were very quick (24 hrs) to answer my e-mail question.

I found out that Dwarf Allegro is a small Oriental Poppy. Great!

I ordered seeds out of the U.K. last week. Don't know how long it'll be before I get them....they have to make a stop at customs in Calif.for inspection before they're sent on....*Sigh*...I need a seed fix.

Just got the last of my backordered seeds from Park...nothing exciting...one package of spearmint....Weeee!

I direct sewed all my poppies,linaria,flax,blue pimpernil,chinese houses and other wild flowers back in Dec.

I'm caught up on my perennial WS,can't start my warm weather annuals until early March and am out of room here in the computer room until hub's fixes me up another light so I can move my cole crops off the heat mat then I can get ready to start tomatoes,peppers,eggplants and more herbs.

Wasn't "Blue Pimpernil" something written by Dickens? Showing my ignorance. I want my Value Seeds today!!! I am tired of waiting. I can't imagine waiting for something to come from the UK!! Such patience and it must be a really, really special "seed fix"!! What did you order?!! I just got some pass along English Cottage garden magazines. Those people are amazing!! It was almost depressing to look at those wonderful gardens and know it is all beyond any effort I might make!! Back to rolling paper pots!
