Wish I could make the meeting but alas it's a little too far from New Jersey. Anyway, good luck at the meeting and I hope eventually that you will have so many members attending that you will have to send out for more chairs.

Fred too bad you can't come to Maine, but do I ever understand--It took me 3 months and 2 missed meetings to just find a ride to this one myself--and I'm only 20 minutes North of it LOL! ;-)

When/if I ever get to NJ again, I want to see you in action... You may not know it, but you have been an African Violet "Guru" to me :-)

Finally, another meeting accomplished. We are growing by leaps and bounds! Three at the first meeting, 4 at the 2nd....

It was a great opportunity for all of us to get together, for we are all lacking for face to face violet buddies. It was an evening of pizza, frenzied leaf and plantlet swapping, a tour of my growing, and wouldn't you know it, someone spotted thrips on one of my violets. Later, an inspection revealed two more plants that seem to be affected, but it looks as though it is caught in the very early stages, for they are about 1/3 the usual size. Time will tell, but I needed to disbud anyway. I'm going to try treating in a sealed box with a vaponex strip, since it SEEMS limited at this point.

I am still blown away from seeing all your plants... I dragged my jaw all the way home and its still not quite re-set back in place! I wish I'd remembered to take some pictures, I had my camera in my bag, but I'm such a space-case :-p

I got alllllll my leaves potted up, got most done when I got home that nite, and finished up the rest yesterday. My god, if all these take, I'll almost double my collection! THANK YOU so much for all of them!!! And for bringing our group together!!
