John Deere 425 troubles

I have an old 425 that I've put pretty much all new electrical in. The newest thing is I went out to start it today and found it running at half power, would start harder than usual and then just about stall just driving it. I opened the hood to find that one of the plug wires was off and was thrilled at such an easy fix. Unfortunately after replacing plugs and reconnection, still the same thing. Most of the online suggestions that I've found seem to be for intermittent poor running, not for constant. I thought I would replace the coil, but again, from what I've read, I'm not sure that sounds right. I've previously replaced the delay module, not that it can't be bad again, but once again sounds like it would not be a constant problem. I'm wondering if it must not be an actual engine problem this time as opposed to all the electrical BS. Any new suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
