I'd start by checking the seat safety switch. Virtually all mowers won't engage the blades unless you are sitting on the seat. If that switch is defective or in some cases disconnected, then the blades won't engage.

The safety switch under the seat broke, I tried it with the wires connected together and apart and it still quits. Thank you for the reply.

I don't know if you have the "safety" no mow in reverse feature, but if you do, engage it as the mower is dying (or at the same time you engage the mower) and see if it works (recently had this problem on my mower, I held the switch for RIO operation as I engaged the blades and the deck started without killing the mower).

Some of the interlock systems are quite complex, so it seems.

My Woods Z for example, must have the parking brake on and the hdro sticks in a neutral position before starting the engine. Once the engine is started, the brake must be released before moving the sticks or the engine shuts off. And of course you have to be on the seat before all else.

I had one incident, where the engine would shut off, when the parking brake was released. That baffled me, as it worked fine, when I shut it off. It turned out to be a broken wire on the seat switch.

The other thing is, when you become used to a procedure, you forget there is a safety switch involved. If there is nothing in the machine manual about the switches and their consequences, it would probably be good to make a reference chart of what switch disables what functions.

Some safety switches have a grounding connector built into them. Even if you pull the connector off, there is a metal tab that slides into place and continues to complete the circuit.
