Comments (11)Thank you for you offer. I am new to this forum, but have been on Gardenweb for several years. I would love to trade cuttings for any cuttings of your roses that would grow in hot weather. It reaches the triple digits here sometimes in the summer. I have planted trees to make it more comfortable for the roses in the extreme heat. I don't have many rose cuttings, I've been waiting to add those to my garden. I do have a miniature red rose, a David Austin St. Cecilia rose, and a miniature rose with orange blooms that are medium sized. I'm sorry it doesn't have a tag;I bought it through the Penny Saver. Other plants I can trade include: perwinkle, purple irises, aloe vera, strawberry runners, cherry red geraniums, purple geraniums, dusty miller, and some pretty conifers that would probably root. I also have lots of vegetable seeds:heirloom zucchini, heirloom tomatoes, cucumber, and Cinderella pumpkins. Later in the season I will have lots of hollyhock seeds. They look beautiful in with the roses! Please let me know, and I will get these off to you in the mail, Stephenie...See MoreFragrant Plum and Wild Blue Yonder in southern NH
Comments (6)I was checking on Fragrant Plum, and someone in alkaline Missouri mentioned that it's a stingy bloomer, BUT probably more prolific in a more acidic soil like the east coast. I also have questions about Wild Blue Yonder since it's on my order from Chamblee. I wonder does it make a good cut flower, how's the fragrance? and does it tolerate alkaline soil? I put soil acidifer for Rhododrendrons & Azaleas on my roses before the rain, and the result has been great: dark green leaves. Thank you for any info. on Wild Blue Yonder....See MoreDoes anyone grow the rose 'Fragrant Cloud'?
Comments (2)I'm in zone 9B and I've had this rose for about 7 years. It is probably the most fragrant rose that I have ever had. It does tend to blow rather quickly, but for a few days the fragrance is wonderful. Like most hybrid Teas it does need to be sprayed to prevent blackspot. So, if you don't intend to spray it then I would return it. If you like cut flowers and are willing to spray it every two weeks or so it will be a winner for you....See Morebethnorcal9
