Don't order from wayside or park seeds

I ordered garden sulfur from park seeds in 2011 and on the exact same date in 2012, they emailed me saying I ordered sulfur and they charged my card that expired. They did not send a second product. I contacted them but the phones were busy then I contact them on twitter. They ignored me. Now, they sent me past due letter. I called the number and they said, I was wrong and they were right, they wanted my phone number so they can call me night and day while my family in not well. My husband has cancer. Never order from them, it is not worth it. You can get anything they have elsewhere. I am posting because I decided to order that based on what I read here and I posted when I ordered it. It may have fallen off. Wayside used to be a good company, but that was years ago. Parkseeds bought them. I am never paying this bill, I don't care if they try to ruin my credit. The sulfur worked pretty, I used it a few times. I also ordered to help with rose canker, but it did not do much for that. The reason is my soil and water is very alkaline.

If the credit card was expired, why did they "send" the item? They did not even send me a second item. I could understand an honesty mistake, but this clearly some desperate attempt at fund raising. Most people would pay a small bill under 20 dollars rather then have all the hassle of it. If everyone is billed a second time each year where does this end? Shall, I expect a new bill in 2013? They should read their twitter feeds and reply to them.

It's just kooky that any co. would ship an item to a customer when the CC charge bounced.

If they claim you ordered it this year, they should be able to come up with a copy of the order that you supposedly made.

If they claim they sent the item (which apparently they do even though you did not receive it), they should be able to come up with the shipping date and tracking info.

If they actually looked they would not find either of these items in their records.

I would contact someone other than the 800 line for orders, such as Customer Service and get an intelligent person on the case.

Taz6122- Wow, I feel the need to defend myself. I ordered things that were in stockÂthen a month later they said they were out of stock AFTER I called and e-mailed several times. It should be no surprise to Park Seeds that they are busy starting Jan 1st. Almost every industry has a Âpeak seasonÂ that they prepare for. Park is no different. Park should be thankful that they are busy in this economy and be prepared for the increase in ordersÂlike they get EVERY year at this time. If you look at the complaints on DaveÂs Garden ÂWatchdogÂ many people have ordered their seeds in Sept and Oct only to receive them in Feb and March. Yes, it is my fault that my seeds are not hereÂ I get thatÂagain I sayÂÂit is not that I do not have my seeds yet., it is the way the Park Seed handled my requests with lies and statements that I wanted to hear, not the actual truth. Yes, it's been discussed many times on this and other fora. But it's a bit more complicated. J&P does not own Parks. The people who own a part of Parks are the ones who bought the part of J&P that excludes their production fields. The couple (who made their money as realtors in Florida) also own a propagation facility in Hodges (just up the road from the huge Parks facility) that propagates from very small amounts of plant material and are not exclusive to roses.

I placed this order on June 6 and it arrived today at the post office. Rather than wait until tomorrow to have our carrier bring the four huge boxes to the house, I went and picked them up. Some companies pay extra $$ and DHL delivers to the house, but this way worked out ok. I just had to keep checking the DHL link to see when they showed up. The plants looked soooo much better this year than last year. I'm real happy I ordered. The bare root roses are huge with massive root systems. The parks/wayside sales are supposed to end at 11 tonight, and I'm trying hard not to look at the list...trying not to order any more! I am kind of wondering if the wholesale site will list more leftovers tomorrow or if the sales are over for this year.

I have just returned from a delighful morning at Parks. Fully stocked with good plant and seed selections. Today everything was 50% off. Huge discounts on 'bulb' type plants. Anyone near there should make the trip during the remaining two days of their sale. The show gardens, as usual, are pleasant to stroll. Worth the trip!

Something weird is going on with Park Seed.

...what used to be an extremely reliable and stable business has turned into a customer service and quality control nightmare over the past couple of seasons. They are increasingly shipping product extremely late (if at all) and seem to be losing track of what stuff they're sending out to people because of the delays. The quality of live plants has also dropped for some stuff. I have no idea what is up with their sourcing or quality control issues.

I have no idea what's going down over there in SC, but they have been "going south" really quickly.

This used to be a very reliable and stable company.

I never thought I'd say it, but at this point I'd stay away from Park Seed, too.

Btw, Park Seed has been in bankruptcy since 2010...but they handled 2010 rather well.

Whatever has been going on since 2011-2013, though...well, it's not good and it's starting to manifest itself in it's products, stock, delivery, and customer service.
