'Double Delight'
Comments (3)I have several Double Delight, and love them... all on Fort. I would not ever buy Dr. Huey, they are not suited for Fla. They are moderately small, seldom over abt. 2-3 feet tall, and might do OK in a huge pot if you pot them in a well-draining mix, a good mix with extra Perlite, and use Osmocote to feed them.. I like FAFARD 3 for a good mix and some Nurseries carry it... even in a pot it is best to buy a grafted on Fort. plant, they are much hardier even in a pot... and then you need to keep them well-fed and sprayed, even tho' they are quite disease resistant... good luck, sally...See MoreNEW: Incredible Heirlooms Double Delights Swap
Comments (34)Glad you came by to visit my exchange page, Kathy. You can come by any time and we will have a virtual cup of tea! LOL Can you believe I have all those seeds? It's one of those "What was I thinking" things. Actually, most of them come from GardenWeb swaps. Also, I keep my seeds for about 4-5 years minimum so some are ones that no one else will want. I planted about 75 winter sowing containers this year (my 3rd year of winter sowing and I love it) and I think all but 6 sprouted so I am busy trying to get plants into the ground or containers or somewhere. Most are flowers, but I do have a few squash plants and some tomoto plants that are growing and some herbs. All but the herbs are tiny right now. I need to start some pepper seeds next week. Comments (3)Black spot spores are everywhere. I once read of a study where the researchers were trying to produce a black spot free environment inside a greenhouse that contained roses and they were not able to rid the greenhouse of black spot to run their tests. So no, I don't think that you need to isolate a black spot susceptible rose. In my own garden, I grow many roses with varying degrees of black spot resistant. I have never seen a healthy rose become less healthy due to its less healthy neighbors. I am also "that kind" of rose grower that never sprays and has a relaxed attitude to leaf spots. As long as a rose is growing, blooming and keeping most of its foliage then I consider it a success....See Morechuck_billie
