Where to get "Obesum x Swazicum", "Obesum x Crispum" seeds

Does anyone know where you can get "X" species adenium seed?

I would like to start some of the X species seed, not the hybrid "X"s.

What a great collection you have there. You just need a batch of Ad. somalense and some Ad. boehmianum next to complete the full set! Can't think of any more varieties can you? The 'Thai socotranum' varieties are not the true Ad. socotranums from the middle east, but are actually a series of strains that have been developed in Thailand over the years from the original Arabian type for mass marketing. The true socotranums are rare to come by and both seed and plants command a high price....maybe you already have them on your wish list eh?? Both types are stunning to see nevertheless! Martin, yes it is Coconut husk chunks. It seems when I find them, I never buy enough and when I go back to get more. They either do not have them or using a different supplier. The last few times I have purchased from a Pet store here (Petsmart). Big chain store. They sell them for reptile bedding. I would like to find a supplier with some that is all uniform in size. I tried fir bark for Orchids. I find that the bark is too hard to get it to absorb water once it dries back. Use it for my Hoya's. I am experimenting with a product in my mix that a friend grows his Orchids and Hoya's with. It is Diatomite. Comes from a auto parts store here called Floor Dry. He shares by it. Trying this product, as I have been using Turface and have not been overly happy with what I see when unpotting a tree. Not sure whether I had used too much Turface or too small of particles? We will see. Martin, so do LED lights require less hydro to operate? Might be a silly question. Rick

When I started out several months ish ago with Adeniums I wanted to keep everything as getting seeds to germinate was an achievement for me, especially before I had the LED light and tent. But since getting the tent and light I have sooooo many more germinating which is not just down to the grow lab but also reliable and trustworthy seed suppliers. Now the honeymoon period is over and the more pics I see online only intensifies my joy for these plants and inspires me to try and get mine to develop into fine specimens, I mean the type that if you post a picture of it people would actually look at it and thing daaang that's a mighty fine tree! I guess the point I am getting to is that I am more easy about letting undesirables go rather than take the space up, sure if I had a climate like hawaii or Thailand etc I would keep many more and let them develop before deciding their fate as they would be outdoors in plenty of space rather than restricted to a tent. Rather than simply bin some I might even try sell a few on fleabay which will raise funds for more seeds or pots etc but now I have more of an 'eye' for what I want I feel more comfortable letting some go to create the space. Learning all the time and one day I might have some trees that might turn a few heads, but whatever the outcome I'm happy to have come into the adenium circle, it's like a therapy which can only be a positive thing :-)

She wont stop blooming, even in the basement. Then this one started again too. I think this is the third wave of inflorescence this year. By now it barely has any leaves and I'll be feeding it until it stops blooming. I have to say, this Superstar of Tomorrow is an extreme performer. Pagan

I first want to appoligize, as I did not get back to you about Socotranum seeds. I received mine through the Adenium Group from a very knowledgeable gentleman from Florida. I do not know how to contact him directly.
I am not purchased from Lithps, but they have been supplying plants for quite some time.
If you frequent Facebook. Send a message to Sundaram at "Abena Adeniums" and he may have some interesting seeds or give you some
Idea as to where to get some. JK Adeniums may know also.

Hi Relve:

I have visited the actual nursery. It is located in Tucson, AZ. The owner is a co-author of the book Adenium: Sculptural Elegance, Floral Extravagance. The actual nursery is legitimate. I did not order from them, however, I purchased directly. At least you can rest assured it was an actual nursery. :) He was very helpul, too!

Laurie, great information. On occasion we visit Tuscon in February. Is that nursery open then and would they have adeniums for sale at that time? I would love to visit an actual nursery that has a variety of adeniums to choose.

Hi ladylotus:

There are two in Tucson that we visit. One is Arid Lands Nursery. They have hundreds of seedlings! Swazicum, arabicum, somalense, socratanum, obesum, hybrids. I did not see any grafted plants, however. The nursery (Living Stones) with the link above has better prices but not as many to choose from. I purchased my somalense from Arid Lands and my bohemianum from Living Stones Nursery. Living Stones is the actual nursery, the website is lithops.net as in the link. We went in mid-March so I think they should be open in February.
