Are ALL your plants labeled?

We are on a local Garden Tour this year, and being a Master Gardener, I felt it would be helpful to label everything.

Why didn't I do this when I bought it? Did I honestly think I would remember which Tiarella or Hosta is which?

Not to even mention the stuff I've bought from other gardeners or have been given that is simply labeled: 'Phlox' 'Geranium', etc.

And the roses - thanks to an ice storm and a weird hard freeze in the spring, they are now 6 in. tall. The D. Austins are not grafted and are okay - some others are not. Red roses are now white, white roses are yellow, it's wild!

But still I plug away, gathering the plastic labels where I can find them, scooting around the yard with a couple books and catalogs to check things, carefully printing on jumbo popsicle sticks with permanent marker, waving them in the air to dry, and spraying them with sealer. Tomorrow my big plan is to sit with several catalogs and see if I can ID about 12 Hosta.

Any other fools like me out there?
