your favorite evergreen rose-companions?
Comments (9)My favorite companion plants: - Daisies (such as osteospermum, and brachyscome). I love daisies because they have so many happy childhood memories attached to them. When I used to be in primary school, my teacher would usually take the class to the park during our lunch break. There at the park, my friends, mainly girls, taught me how to make chains out from those weedy, yellow-coloured ones...I just wish I could travel back in time and relive that experience again. - Lavender (particularly 'Sidonie' - it looks beautiful and is distinctly different to other lavenders. Basically, I am a fan of the colour blue. It matches pink roses well. Silver and green foliage plants also blend well with roses too....See MoreWhat is your favorite 'Heuchera' as a companion to Hosta?
Comments (19)ok, now I actually found one I want, Monet. Monet my favorite artist, I have a real love, a passion, a driving need, for art and Monet speaks to me as no other artist does. No matter how much I may love another artist work. I love Monet's work so much that I keep a folder of his work by my computer to look at most everyday, did my bedroom in a Monet theme, and named my best friend, my hosta dog, my standard poodle, Monet. I have just got to have a plant named after Monet. I really never did take much note of the Heuchera's other than an interesting contrast to the hostas, but if anyone can tell me where to find the one named Monet, it will be given a star spot in my gardens....See MoreMy favorite companion plants. Comments (48)That reminds me of the Hibiscus that I just discovered this year. Mahogany Splendor. I used two to shade some of my hostas this year b/c the loss of half of a tree that had been shading them. It's worked well and the growth was unbelievable! It was only a couple of feet tall when I got it. Check it out now. Looks kind of dumb sticking in the air all by itself from that angle, but it looks good viewed from the street b/c it blends into the house, visually and frankly, I needed it for the shade for my hostas, no matter what....See MoreFavorite Rose Companions?
Comments (43)Probably because forget me nots can grow like crazy And become rather invasive or so I've heard. They also like damp shadier areas, which may be not so great for roses. I've never grown them though. But the blue would be pretty with roses. It's always nice to see roses with their companions & I love seeing people's garden styles! Even though this is an older post. I like having some plants that bloom when the roses are not. With limited space it's hard to have everything I would like. I like all hydrangeas, irises, hardy hibiscus, lupin, coneflower, delphinium, poppies, trees, etc. I did plant some speedwells last year too....See Morenjmomma
