Comments (15)Thank you, Randy. Bellegallica, to me the fragrance is predominantly like fresh raspberries, with a hint of Old Rose. The fragrance is intense. I forgot to mention the names of the roses in the background in the first pic. On the right is Marchesa Boccella, and on the left is The Mayflower....See MoreThe Banker's Wife, Mme Isaac Pereire
Comments (6)Very few roses rust quite as badly in my area as MIP. Well, Paul Neyron, I guess. But MIP also blackspots here, and mildews -- even when sprayed regularly. It's a beautiful, beautiful bloom, and I won the English Box class with it a couple of times, but it is simply not suited to my conditions. Comments (21)Hi nik, I was thinking of Mrs B R Cant which is a tea. She gets big and has nice medium pink double flowers and is not a climber but she would still work. I may get her for another spot. Jasmina does look beautiful I like the full shape of her flowers. I will have to research on if she would do well here. I found these photos of Jasmina paired with Laguna...WOW!! http://www.mein-schoener-garten.de/experten/blog/rosen_und_mehr/2012/07/07/laguna-und-jasmina-kletterrosen Teas are new to me and I got a bunch of them this year :) I hope they work out for me here. We are hot and humid but drier in the late fall winter and early spring (unless it is a wet year like the last couple lol). We have a rainy season in the summer where it can rain almost every day at least a little, just enough to steam it up and make it miserable. ~sjn...See MoreMme Isaac Pereire for an Arbor?
Comments (19)I just dug up some MIP's today to put in pots to give away. Huge canes in a very short time so a very fast grower. I didn't notice particularly awful thorns, but then I have New Dawn to compare to! Planted at the same time, my RDV's aren't a fraction as tall, but nice and soft to deal with though. I realize that I'm not in your zone, but MIP grew so much faster to compare. To those of you who have wonderful MIP scent, do you have clay? Mine were scentless in fluffy, sandy soil....See Moreroseseek
