Many companies sell the seed for golden-leaved Agastache foeniculum and I do think it breeds almost entirely true. I am pretty sure 'Golden Jubilee' is a marketing name rather than a real cultivar name. You may have a few seedlings with green leaves here and there, especially if grown in the vicinity of other A. foeniculum types like mine, but they will be easy to weed out. My plants also self-seeded vigorously this season. I had to pull up about 99% of the seedlings. But still, nothing like the rampant reseeding of Verbena bonariensis! :-)

Thanks for the suggestions. You know what's weird? I could have SWORN the blooms earlier this summer were more pinkish than purplish. In fact, I thought I actually checked the plant online to see if that was the normal color. I have blooms now on it that are purple, just like standard Anise Hyssop. I don't think plants change color like that, so I must be slightly crazy. I checked out the Pow Wow Wild Berry, and I think that would be a fantastic pairing, as well as a very welcome color to my overly yellow fall garden. Will be buying some seeds to WS this year, for sure! I also did put some purple in and around it, as well. Thanks for all the great suggestions! tepelus, I placed Asclepias tuberosa not in front of it, but very close. This garden area gives me more opportunity for large swaths of color, and I'm hoping those two areas will blend very well. nhbabs, I hadn't thought of red, but that would indeed be a fantastic color with those yellow-green leaves. That would really "pop" (I think "pop" has got to be one of the most over-used words today). Getting me to thinking...I have 5 GJ plants now. I can divide them next year and pair them with some red bloomers. Thanks for all the suggestions. It's so helpful to hear your thoughts, and your suggestions always help bump me out of my rut!

Jay, The reason I asked ... not to resurrect the discussion of Jubilee vs. Golden Jubilee ... but because when I visited Alan Strangefruit's market garden last Thursday, I noticed one particularly vigorous tomato plant. It didn't seem to be affected by the drought we had been having. And I mean a long dry May and half of June with very dry conditions. Anyway, Alan doesn't irrigate, and you could see many of the plants were stressed. But these few tomato plants were far and away thriving in the hot dust better than the others. They were Jubilee. We've had several days of rain since last Thursday, thank goodness ... no telling what they look like today. Just an observation here in Southern Indiana. Bill
