Ironite is good stuff, but it's SLOOOOW.

If the problem is really chlorosis (I've never seen this rose chlorotic, and we live in alkaline central) I'd instead use a chelated iron, or just toss it a handful of soil sulfur.

Another possibility -- Is this rose perhaps standing with its roots in water? Because I've seen in some horribly rainy El Nino years, roses standing with their roses so deep in standing water that the roots couldn't exchange oxygen, and they went chlorotic.

If you've had the awful wet, cool, gray spring most of the nation has had it's probably what Jeri said, too much water. All of my roses are really struggling to come out of winter this spring too. They're alive but just sitting there shivering waiting for a little sunshine.

Cherokee has always had a lighter green leaf than any other roses I grow (even it's daughter, Fortuniana, has a darker leaf). The current hot spell may be a bit stressful for the current leaves to correct themselves. Can you work on drainage and organic matter in the soil? The biggest Cherokees that I've seen grow in very sandy soils with just bits of organics. Mine lives in clay, but it's on a knoll with as decent drainage as it can get, given it's clay.

Thanks for all the comments and suggestions. She has started to green up some of the newer leaves and those closer to the ground. I'm sure she is pining for the sandy soils of Tidewater Virginia since she came from Colonial Williamsburg, but I didn't expect her to become this "homesick." She's just not happy in the limestone soils of the Valley. I've added sulfur to my Ironite application and it seems to be helping. Thanks, everyone!
