OK to add salted peanut hulls to compost pile?

Debbie

I'm embarrassed that I've been collecting stuff for my compost pile for several years, and it never occurred to me that the leftovers from my husband's favorite snack--peanuts in the shells--might be bad for the compost. I don't know, actually how the salt gets to the peanuts, but I assume that some of it is left on the shells that we've been adding to our compost. My plants are doing pretty well, but I'm wondering if we should stop adding the peanut shells to the pile. Any thoughts on this? Thanks!
