Oregon does offer a Gator blade with the 7-point star
center hole (which I believe your deck has). Oregon part
number is 92-615. Blade is 21 3/8" long with the 7-point
mounting center hole. If this matches the specs to the
X300 blade....it should work. The Oregon catalog DOES NOT
(SPECIFICALLY) list the X300 mower, and the Deere part
number for the standard blades (M154061) is NOT LISTED in
the 2007 catalog. The JD pictorial shows the 7-point star
blade, SO....this is HOW I'm arriving at the possible part
number for a Gator that might work.

I have asked this question before on a similar thread about gator blades, but got no response. My JD dealer told me gator blades didn't work any better than mulching. Additionally he said that using them would void the JD warranty. Anyone else heard that?

What else would the "Deere Dealer"...say? He doesn't sell
Gator blades, and is certainly "OEM ORIENTED". Since Deere
"controls" what they will and won't pay for under warranty,
I suppose they can...DO WHAT THEY WANT...as it pertains to
that. I've used Gator blades for years on a Toro zero-turn
mower, and have had very good success with them. Everyone
has "THEIR VERSION" of mulching blades and systems, and
as such, would ALWAYS PROMOTE....theirs vs. someone elses.
If your Deere product is still UNDER WARRANTY....I'd surely
recommend sticking with what he says....lest you have any
problems you would EXPECT for him to fix.

If true,perhaps JD does not feel their products have the "stuff" to handle the additional load of a "double cut" blade.

Check out ebay for Gator blades ... lots of them there and some sold by JD dealers such as the Green Dealer.

first off-"nice machine", but check into the X304AWS, tighter turning radius, bigger tranny, and go with the muching kit. gator blades are fine but ya right about the warranty,JD will not warranty it with the gator's, unless of course ya swap out the gators back to the oringinal blades before ya bring it to them. If ya stay with the X300 they offer a muclhing deck that ya can get for an additional 100 bucks and eliminate that problem. Just a couple of ways to choose. " The choice is your's."

if ya happen yo live near atlanta, actually nw of atlanta, I know a dealership that has ab X300 mucler deck brand new for sale..that was the one I originally ordered...was gettin it for 2999+ttt....free delivery within 25 miles...

Got Gator Blades for my 48C on my LX277.
It certainly does not turn the leaves to dust. If I start in the center of the lawn and work outward it will 'eventually' get them minced, but it takes a few passes.

bhshaman, try starting on the perimeter of your lawn with the side discharge of your mower deck toward the unmulched leaves. This pattern mulches and remulches the leaves as you spiral to the center of your lawn.
