Hi ifisnm, Gosh, Now my curiosity is really going. Is the budget most important? Is this new area grass or flowers? How Big is the new area? Would you like a permanent hose connection available? Do you have a hose connection fairly close by? Cheapest option: Dig out sprinkler head, remove sprinkler head attach a 1/2" coupling female/female thread/thread to end of threaded 1/2" pvc pipe screw in a 12" or 18" pvc threaded nipple screw on a brass female/male thread/thread NPThread/garden hose connection. The attach the hose. Cost around 10$. Easiest option: Buy extra hoses. Most expensive and time consuming but permanent option: Dig up main, cut main, place tee slip/slip/3/4" thread (don't know size of main), F/F/F, place one compression repair fitting, screw in nipple to height desire for hose connection, screw on hose bib connection. Pour a little concrete at the low bend for stability long term. Note: all threaded joints use teflon tape. GL Aloha

We have numerous fire sprinkler heads throughout our condo - it was code back in '98. A few people in our complex experienced flooding because after years these things can malfunction and just go off. Called our insurance company and they indicated we could shut it down since it costs them more money to fix up a flooded dwelling. Had a plumber come in and cut the pipe off, drain it and done. I would definitely check with your city and insurance company before doing this. The majority of our complex has shut theirs down. Oh, and we've just left them up!

It is a huge design fail to mix irrigation types for the same zone. If your rotors/sprays have output adjustment (ie change nozzles, spray heads) you can mitigate the effects, but it's still a bad idea.

while I can't see the exact brand of sprinkler used it looks compatible with a Rainbird nozzle. the best fix for this is the use of what is called an under-cut nozzle which has two levels of spray, one standard and one close in.
