The thread link below has a discussion with pictures of the HDAP tires side by side in the two sizes you listed. The tires they are talking about come on some of the larger JD garden tractors and are Carlisle HD Field Trax tires. Also if you go to the Carlisle Tire web site and look at ATV tires, you'll see other options to consider for more traction. Measure your tire height and check the column noted "Mounted Height" to make sure they will fit your tractor.

I bought these at Walmart of all places , have run them 2 summers and one winter, thru rocks brush, briers, you name it, not a leak yet. great snow tire too.
If i had the $ at the time, i would have bought these,

but i dont think they have them below a 25" nice tire, 6 ply instead of 2 ply.

if your tire is 24" actual, and another tire is say, 26" it wont raise tractor 2" it will raise it 1". same with deck clearance, all that 2" isnt on one side, there is a inch increase is diameter on each side of the axle, up and down, or fore and aft, all the same.

Check the clearance between your deck and the tires......some tractors are real tight there. Also remember that when you remove the deck, it has to slide out between the front and rear tires too.

The clearance between the left rear tire and the gas tank is minimal.

The 24x12-12 HDAP's WILL fit a GT235 with the 48" deck. I tried a set of them on one. The HDAP's are one of the best all purpose tires I've used. They provide great traction with minimal turf damage. If you get a set, you will like them.

the HDAP, which was always called a BuckShot Mudder, were originaly for ATV's, and they sucked on a atv, may be ok on a LT/GT.. Ill stick to bar lugs myself.

I have checked out the Carlisle Website for the HDAP Field Trax. It is 24x12-12 but only a 2 ply.

I also noticed there is a Carlisle HDAP All Trail. This tire has similar tread in the size of 23x10.5-12 that is a 4 ply and almost $10 less per tire. This may be a better tire given that it is 4 ply. Looks like a good tire to me!

Meaning?

All i was getting at was that if you want the best traction the so called HDAP isnt that tire. If you want middle of the road traction, its fine. Unless thy have changed rubber compounds, they were always quite hard, where a bar lug will hold no matter if its hard cause it has wide apart tread spacing.
I have had HDAP/Buchshot mudders/Spider Tracs/holeshots/Kenda Vipers/and a lot of different Carlisle ATV tires thru the years. Carlisle 489's are what i am running now, next time it will be GBC Gators.
And i tested way beyond what a LT/GT does , using 3 and 4 wheelers, used to do amature mud competitions rock climbing, hill climbing, trails, you name it, all amature competition of course, also rode all winter on about everything.
In general... you cant do better all around than a bar lug tire.

I have the All-Trail on my GT235 and really like them. I have a rough side hill to mow and they really help. I also have wheels weights. I have not used them in the winter yet so I do not know what they will do on snow. I hope this helps.
