Too much rain in Mid-Atlantic

Just posting because maybe I will get some sympathy from fellow rose lovers - I have a small garden in Maryland and so many of my bushes are just about to bloom with the first flush, including an Honorine de Brabant (spelling?) and an Abraham Darby I was really looking forward to, they really took off this year. And we have been hammered in VA/DC/MD with a system that sat on the coast and pumped in so much rain it caused flooding - and now another front is is dumping more rain. I guess that was the end of the drought in our area.

Of course, I know some of these same weather systems caused terrible storms in the West and I feel so badly for the people there (I used to live in Indiana). May should be such a good time of year here (before it gets hot and sticky, and the roses sulk). The bushes themselves look happy, but the only thing left is to cut the flowers and get them indoors. In the meantime the ferns in the shade garden have exploded with growth - but I want flowers!
