Comments (3)A belt slap from adjuster arms sticking may be enough to snap your belt. Take the tension off your arm(s)- clean, lube and re-assemble w/tension springs in place.Use the oem belts, deck clean top and bottom, blades sharp and on correctly....See Morecub cadet 102 changing drive belt for mower
Comments (1)Engine off, key in pocket for the following: On my CC129 (which I'd hope is similar--horizontal engine, front pulley, belt drops thru 2 pulleys and then takes a 1/4 twist (both ways) and then goes back around upper deck pulley), I attach the belt first to the engine pulley, then the front pulleys. With the deck all the way down and on the lift mechanism, start the belt on the upper deck pulley at whichever side is easier to reach and "ROLL" the belt onto the pulley by spinning it with the belt pressed to it. This is not an easy thing to do and can pinch your hand if you are not careful (gloves). You should completely detach any tightening bolts, springs, etc...on those 2 front pulleys BEFORE trying to get the belt on. AFTER the belt is on, it is relatively easy to pull those things into alignment (which tensions the belt). I've seen quite a few different pulley arrangements on those old CC's over the years....See MoreCub Cadet Mower Belt
Comments (3)Belt tension isn't adjustable. I'm suprised that these aren't spec'd as kevlar belts. I would check the Cub site when comparing specifics between models. Here is a link that might be useful: cub online...See MoreTransmission BElt Change on CubCadet lt1042
Comments (9)These, in theory aren't awful to do. The problem comes in that EVERY one I have done, the drive pulley on the crankshaft will not come off. The solution is to remove the engine bolts and shift/ lift the engine to get clearance as the over qualified engineers built the guide into the frame pan. I pull the hood and lift the tractor- could be done w/out. PTO clutch/lock bracket comes off, deck comes off, 4 engine bolts(1 of the 4 engine bolts have to come off in such a way that one of the steering links need to come off.)Omit the last part if your pulley actually does come off. The rest is roll the belt over the front pulley, then the back fan/ pulley- then through the two pulley actuator and over the tensioner pulley. Like bakin' a cake... Impact wrench is a great idea to remove the PTO clutch. Re-apply loctite to the bolt when installing. 954-0461 I believe is the correct belt. Look under the hood for the part # to be sure....See Moreturnberry15033
