Garage Door Opener Issue

I have 2 - 3/4 HP Craftsman garage openers. The first one I installed worked perfectly. The second however is giving all sorts of issues on opening/closing. The garage door will either not open all the way(lacking about 11/2 feet or will not close all the way (lacking about 1 1/2 feet). I have adjusted the "force" buttons, starting from the beginning and slowly adjusting, no help, I have removed the chain and reset the lengths closer the the "stop" for it to raise. It acts as if the gear is needing to turn a few more revolutions to comletely get the door up. The door is in no bind. The sensors work fine. Any other suggestions?..I've tried to make the door look identical to the one that works..Can't get Sears to come out and service as of yet!! HELP!!!
